This blog has been silent for about 8 months! I find it a little time consuming to manage 2 blogs at the same time, so at the moment, this blog will be inactive until I decide what to do with it! Krabi, Thailand, Here I Come!

I arrived in Krabi yesterday. I am here to do a photo shoot for a client on their honeymoon. It’s my first honeymoon trip, and honestly, am not entirely too sure yet of what I am supposed to do! There will be one or two planned shoots, but other than that, I’ll be discussing with the client once they arrive later.

Krabi’s rocks remind me of the limestones around Ipoh. It’s lovely. Alex and I are thinking of doing a dive or two today around the Ao Nang area. It’s nice to be away from KL once again. Take time off to think about things and reflect as well. Which reminds me, time to send out our yearly Reflections newsletter again. We missed out last year’s Reflections completely!

It’s finally here! After weeks of hard work, we are launching Stories by Integricity Visuals. Most of you would know that the team at Stories originated from the brand Wedding Story. In 2009, our photography services at Wedding Story has grown by leaps and bounds. It is with much excitement that we announce to you a specialized boutique wedding & portrait photography service from Stories.

With this new launch, we are pleased to give away special treats to couples who are interested to make a booking for 2010. We will give away gifts worth up to RM1,500 for the first 5 couples who confirms a booking with us!

Something New is Happening This 2010!

Amidst the last minute Christmas shopping, roasting chicken for parties and also finishing work for clients, I have been busy working on the launch of something new. I cannot wait to reveal it this 1st of January 2010. In the meantime, have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

Things I am thankful for this 2009

I’ve been super busy with work this year. There’s been good and bad things that have happened. But despite it all, I believe I’ve learnt a lot about the business world and I’m a lot wiser.
My family now lives with me and I am glad that I get to see them everyday. Even though my father talks about the same thing everyday, like how the neighbours seem to have moved out of their homes cause he can’t see anyone walking about in the garden. Or how my DVD player should be placed next to my speakers.
I see my sister more often too. Even though we live 20 minutes away, before my parents moved to KL, we saw each other only about once or twice a month.
I traveled to Bangladesh & Holland for overseas wedding shoots. I am so grateful for this opportunity and to do the things I love which is travel!
I met lots of interesting new photographer friends this year and built deep friendships.
I feel truly happy shooting weddings and being part of such a happy day.
The cell group has grown from 5 people to about 15 people.
My business now has 2 staff which I manage.
I fulfilled my lifelong dream of seeing the pyramids in January this year! And even slept in the desert in the frigid cold.
I am constantly thankful for my husband Alex who keeps me sane when I am down. I love walking through life with him by my side. Even when he nags me about my bad memory.
To God, because if not because of Him, all these things would not have been possible.

Next year will be a year of changes. A lot of things will be new, unexplored, uncertain. But out of that uncertainty, God says,

“God knows who belongs to Him”

And knowing that I belong to God, under His care, makes me feel safe. I know that He is constantly watching out for me. That the things I care about are the things that He cares about too.

He knows.

Just the other day, I was standing outside my sister’s home in Jalan Gasing and saw this amazing cloud - the sun shining behind it, creating lovely rays and outline! I am so amazed, cause I haven’t seen anything like that in PJ before! It reminds me of how beautiful God is - His creation. There is a silver lining behind every cloud. Though times are bad, He shines through in the end. He never fails.

Pisau Cukur Movie Premiere

In my entire filmmaking career, I’ve been involved in a number of movies…

Gol & Gincu - film editor
Goodbye Boys - film editor
Kami - post production supervisor
Shoebox Tales - film editor

In the most recent film, Pisau Cukur, my role was pretty minor - I went on board a cruise ship and took photos of the interior and exterior of the ship as reference for the 3D ship. It was a totally fun assignment. Of course, who wouldn’t want to be paid to go on a cruise?

And so I was really excited to see the finished film at the movie premiere last Wednesday. I absolutely love the storyline, it had lots of funny moments, and the soundtrack was really apt for the film. Of course the girls were beautiful! The number of cameras surrounding Maya Karin and Nur Fazura that night at Cineleisure was incredible.

Ok, so this blog space has been pretty silent the past few months. The thing is, I’ve been so busy doing work related stuff and spending time blogging at the Wedding Story blog that I am uncertain about what to blog here. I feel it’s a bit redundant to blog about the same things. I am not sure if there are even readers for this blog. Do I write about my life? Other than work, what do I write about? My parents moving to KL and having to adapt to them? About my cat looking really cute sleeping on my couch?

It all seems so unimportant.

I used to write about things that were on my mind. Years ago, I wrote about discovering myself, about being authentic to the world out there. With the passing of time, I felt this blog became more and more like a business blog rather than a personal one.

I want the old blog back. I am in the midst of creating a separate blog for Integricity Visuals, and so anything non-wedding related (eg. portraits, corporate work, training etc) will be placed there. I’ll reserve this space for more personal things. Let it be a space for thoughts once again. For reflection. About my family, my God, my husband, my travels.

It won’t be easy to get it going once again, but I’ll try.
