Today Alex and I emptied our pockets to purchase 2 new toys to add to the family - our new 2nd hand 30D and a 70-200mm F4 IS lens. We've been talking about this for a while now (5D you'll have to wait!), and the decision became easier when we sold our 350D to one of our closest friends. Though it was given as an engagement present to me by Alex, we decided to put aside sentimentalities and sell the camera so that we can upgrade. So say hello to our new friends here...
The 30D looks so new, everything was intact.
Even the manual that came in its original plastic cover is unopened! I feel as if we're buying a brand new camera.
The 70-200mm lens was definitely a steal at RM3300. It still has 7 months warranty at Canon.
My initial concern about getting this lens was the weight, (of course not as heavy as the F2.8 version)...but still, it is a challenge to my tiny hands. (Did I ever mention to you that I am only 5 feet 0 inci in height? Imagine the hands in proportion to that). After thinking through it for a while, and testing the same lens at a friend's place, I decided that I will learn to manage the weight. When I first bought the 40D and used it for a shoot, my hands cramped up so much, I had to get Alex to help me massage my sore arms. (Yay thank God for husbands!). But now I am used to the 40D's weight with heavier lenses on it, so I think I can condition myself to get used to this lens.
The only regret I have is that Mark shoots with Nikon, and we can't share resources. Oh well, you can't have it all! |
